Hospice Volunteer Opportunity

We are currently seeking friendly, well-mannered and calm pets to join Love on Leashes Pet Team serving hospice patients and families throughout the Chicagoland area. We have a special need for Pet Teams in the South and Southwest communities. Opportunities to visit patients are opening up every day so this is the perfect time to train as a hospice volunteer.

Patients yearn for pet companionship. Love On Leashes provides comfort and even a few wet kisses to our terminally ill patients and families. Symptoms such as anxiety and even pain can be redirected with a friendly pet visit. Pet visits stimulate long term memory support and add quality of life to the end of life. You are needed!

Dogs and cats must be certified in Animal Assisted Activities, carry insurance through their certifying agency, be interviewed and possess the appropriate documentation with both the certifying agency and ours prior to patient visits. Volunteer training is provided free of charge remotely for your convenience.
