ORGANIZATION: School on Wheels

Retired Male

Join a community of compassionate individuals dedicated to making a difference in the lives of students residing in homeless shelters, motels, group foster homes, and vehicles throughout Southern California. While all students have been affected by the pandemic, unhoused students are disproportionately experiencing adverse educational outcomes. Support our students to get back on track.

We offer both online and in-person tutoring opportunities. Tutoring usually happens on weekdays between 3 pm-7pm. We provide in-depth training and ongoing support to all our tutors.

Change a life by applying at https://schoolonwheels.org/apply-to-be-a-volunteer/

"If you are considering becoming a volunteer, do not hesitate! It is an unparalleled and invaluable experience for both you and your student. Becoming a volunteer gives you the chance to change a child’s life for the better, and to help them discover the wonder of learning and growing as a student. Although not every session will be easy and rewarding, the gradual process of aiding a student’s academic career is priceless." - Volunteer Tutor, Erika
