Notre Dame Mission Volunteers, AmeriCorps (NDMVA) is seeking an Afterschool Arts Support Team Member to serve as a Full-time AmeriCorps Member at The Eliot School in Jamaica Plain from September 2022-July 2023.

The Eliot School offers classes to people of all ages in woodworking, sewing and yarn, fiber arts, book arts, drawing, painting, photography and other crafts and fine arts. They reach thousands of people each year from Boston and beyond. Through school partnerships, they send teaching artists and artisans to classrooms and community centers throughout Boston. They offer classes for all ages. They nurture a select group of young artists through Teen Bridge, and support Boston-based artists through our annual Artist in Residence.

The AmeriCorps Member will help administer the Eliot School’s new afterschool program and other kids classes at the schoolhouse in Jamaica Plain, while ensuring consistency with the organization’s mission, strategy, values, commitments and goals. The Eliot School is committed to making this a positive experience that builds on existing skillsets and helps to develop skills to gain knowledge and confidence in the field. The Eliot School will provide training in the form of experiential learning, professional development, peer support and 1:1 check ins.
