Join our nonprofit startup and help diversify Chicago theater by making hiring networks and resources accessible to everyone! We are an all-volunteer staff & board of over 30 people, looking for someone with an interest in contributing to our mission. While this is a primarily remote position, we would like someone with great familiarity and connection with Chicago.

About Us

Our vision is to make getting involved in theatre more accessible to underrepresented groups. Our current focus is on building an online tool that helps producers cast and hire artists, specifically with the goal of helping companies connect with artists from underrepresented communities. By collecting demographic information from our users, we hope to match members with companies, when certain identities and skills are integral to the position, and introduce new artists to companies who may not have been connected previously.

This Position

We are seeking a strong writer and editor to serve as our Grant Writer. The right person for this position is detail-oriented and enjoys working to meet deadlines. This position is responsible for preparing grant applications and assisting our Development Manager in the completion of additional grant materials and researching/evaluating potential grants. They will receive additional support from an outside development consultancy paid for by CAG. They will also partner with our Executive Director, Business Manager, Executive Assistant, and various Board members to complete projects.

Mission Statement

To diversify Chicago theatre with a centralized online network for artists, producers, and community groups.

Description

Our vision is to make getting involved in theatre more accessible to underrepresented groups. We do this by sharing free and affordable resources, connecting companies with their community, and creating an online network of artists available for hire. Many theater companies and artists do not have the time, experience, or resources to put into the business side of the industry. Chicago Artist Guide’s mission is to create tools and gather resources so that artists can spend more time, energy, and money on creating art than on the logistics of producing and running a company.
