Make a difference in the life of a Westchester older adult by volunteering to become a Telephone Friend! Whether discussing the news of the day, a favorite memory, or a good book, weekly telephone conversation builds friendship and common interests.

DOROT’s Telephone Friends are paired with an older adult for a regular weekly call, scheduled at a mutually agreed upon and convenient time. The time commitment is a once a week call for a year. During the calls, volunteers and older adults chat, read a book together, play a game or listen to music. Calls last 20-45 minutes depending on mood and interests.
