ORGANIZATION: The Salvation Army Bryan/College Station

Every Tuesday morning from 10:00am-12:00pm we receive a delivery from the Brazos County food bank. We need volunteers to help us unload the delivery truck, sort the food in our food pantry, and then bag the food up in preparation for Food Distribution on Wednesday morning.

Description

Since 1949 The Salvation Army has been serving children, families, and individuals in Brazos County. The Salvation Army is a beacon of hope for those who are in need. In 2020, over 304,000 pounds of food was provided to 11,907 individuals. More than 11,537 meals were served during disaster deployments after Hurricane Laura. 4,127 clothing items were distributed to 127 families. 2,347 children received Angel Tree Christmas gifts. 167 families received rental assistance so they were not evicted from their homes and 109 families received utility assistance so their power could stay on. 256 backpacks were provided to the children for back to school.
