Volunteer Interpreter for Immigration, Refugee, and ESL Services
What:
We work with people of all backgrounds and languages, which often means that we need assistance communicating. If you speak a language other than English at the C1 or C2 level, you can volunteer to interpret for meetings and orientations between clients and program staff. Access to interpretation is crucial for the quality and success of our services.
Where/When:
After attending our interpretation training, you will be added to our volunteer interpreter database and contacted when your services are needed. Interpreting can be done by phone or in-person at our office in Metairie.
More Details:
It is not required that you have previous experience interpreting or certification. We provide basic community interpretation training.
