Resilience, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving the mental and emotional strength and resilience of students and adults through education. Resilience, Inc also works to combat declining test scores, low student engagement, and a slew of other social issues.

The organization focuses on offering Social Emotional Learning tools to enable K-12 schools to teach emotional intelligence through 5 core topics: self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, relationship management, goal setting & effective decision-making. Resilience also provides tools for acquiring and maintaining inspiration, hope, social beings, and overall well-being.

The organization is looking for Cartoon Artists and offers programs in the Curriculum Development department. If you are also concerned about children’s mental health and want to learn more about the SEL program. Join us! Become a staff member of Resilience, Inc.

Resilience offers unpaid internship programs that require at least a 4 month commitment with a minimum of 5 hours per week. There are flexible start and end dates with the option to continue after meeting the minimum requirement.

Although this is an unpaid internship, there is the opportunity to earn school credit. Some educational institutions require prior approval before the start of an internship. It is the responsibility of the student to check with their institution to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept a position.

Some previous projects Cartoon Artist interns have worked on include creating material for the social emotional learning curriculum, producing comic strips for the social emotional learning curriculum, and aiding in the development of a productive and engaging social emotional learning curriculum. Interns will report to the Director of Curriculum Development.

This internship is unpaid, but students may receive academic credit through their university. It is the responsibility of the student to check with their institute to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept the position.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Director of Curriculum Development.
  • Coordinate with the curriculum department to work to develop the project.
  • Be familiar with our core topics, including self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, relationship management, and decision-making.
  • Coordinate with the cartoon video team to develop the project.
  • Maximize the use of graphic and pre-production phases to make cartoons clear and easy to understand.
  • Contribute story ideas.
  • Change other’s lives based on your creations!

Qualifications

  • Work independently.
  • Ability to work on a team can attend weekly remote meetings.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Consistently communicate with team members.
  • Eagerness to learn and improve critical skills.
  • Receptive to improve problems and solving skills.

Learning Outcomes

  • Demonstrate your skills in art, designing, and creating.
  • Develop videos to add to your animation portfolio.
  • Become fluent in the Doodly software.
