ORGANIZATION: Seniors in Service of Tampa Bay, Inc.

Volunteer Opportunities

We have our specific opportunities everyday on our Tampa Campus. Work with the Station Coordinator to create your schedule. You can serve in any of the 5 capacities that your passion below:

1. Outreach- Helping families in our metro market choose food and clothes for themselves and their families.

2. Clothing Warehouse/thrift store- Sort through and choose items for our thrift store and outreach department. Accept incoming donations, ensure that the thrift store is tidy.

3. Kitchen- Prep, cook, and serve food. We prepare 3000 meals daily between our campus, Pasco, Pinellas, and Polk counties.

4. Environmental- Keeping the grounds of Metro Min beautiful. Ensuring a nice environment for the residents and the community.

5. Garden- Helping weed, rake, and maintain our on-campus fruit and veggie garden

8:30-11:30

11:00-2:00

12:30-3:30

2:00-5:00

4:30-7:30

Our shifts are filled based on the need of the day but here are the different opportunities that will be open when your group comes.

  • morning / 06:00 AM to 09:00 AM
  • morning / 08:30 AM to 11:30 AM
  • afternoon / 12:00 PM to 02:00 PM
  • afternoon / 12:30 PM to 03:30 PM
  • afternoon / 02:00 PM to 04:45 PM
  • evening / 05:00 PM to 07:00 PM
  • NONE OF THESE TIMES WORK FOR ME, BUT I CAN STILL HELP

Seniors in Service of Tampa Bay provides solutions to community challenges by engaging volunteers aged 55+

Description

Programs Offered Through Seniors in Service:


Foster Grandparent Program (FGP)

  • The Foster Grandparent Program recruits senior volunteers (55+) to go into schools and after-school programs to mentor at-risk and special needs children and provide them with one-on-one, individualized attention


Senior Companion Program (SCP)

  • The Senior Companion Program recruits senior volunteers (55+) to go into the homes of homebound, elderly clients and provide them with companionship and assistance.


Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)

  • The RSVP Program recruits senior volunteers(55+) to participate more fully in the life of the community through volunteer service. The program matches the considerable wealth of knowledge, skills, and experience of this vital and rapidly growing age group with the addressing of critical needs and unresolved issues in our community.


Operation Veteran Connect

  • Provides companionship to veterans, enabling them to live independently. Supports the VA in supporting providing Whole Health support to veterans.
