Seeking a creative volunteer with graphic design experience and artistic background. Duties include, but are not limited to, creating printed content (posters, flyers, etc.) and digital content (website, social media, email, etc.). Experience with video, video editing, and YouTube channel management a plus.
Volunteer will work with the Director of Development & Communications to promote events, share news, and generate funding for our farm animal sanctuary. A minimum of four hours each week are requested, though the four-hour window each week can be flexible if needed. Applicant should have their own laptop and relevant software (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. or web-based platforms like Canva). No West Place information will be housed on your computer.
Attention to detail, good communication skills, and timely completion of projects are essential to success in the role. This position will require on-site work at our sanctuary in Tiverton, but volunteer duties can also be completed remotely.

Mission Statement
West Place Animal Sanctuary rescues farm animals from abuse, neglect, and cruelty and provides them with a permanent home and lifelong care. We rehabilitate sick, injured, and orphaned wildlife in Rhode Island and release healthy animals back into their natural habitats. We also operate the lost dog shelter for the towns of Tiverton and Little Compton. Through our humane education programs, West Place educates the public, offers hands-on educational experiences through our immersive student internships, and cultivates a more compassionate community.
Description
Founded in 2007, West Place Animal Sanctuary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides lifesaving care, love, and a permanent home to farm animals rescued from cases of abuse, neglect, and cruelty. It is a licensed wildlife rehabilitation center that assists sick, injured, and orphaned animals, and releases healthy wildlife back into their natural habitats. It also serves as the lost dog shelter for the towns of Tiverton and Little Compton. West Place has a network of 75+ volunteers, who provide essential animal care 365 days a year, and the organization provides unique hands-on humane education experiences to students to cultivate a more compassionate community.
