Social Media Manager Job DescriptionPosition Overview

Aknew Approach Inc. seeks a talented Social Media Manager to administer our social media accounts. This hardworking individual will be responsible for creating original text and video content, as well as managing posts and responding to followers. The individual will manage our company image in a cohesive way to achieve our marketing goals. As our Social Media Manager, we expect you to be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. You should have excellent communication skills and be able to express our company’s views creatively. Ultimately, you should be able to handle our social media presence ensuring high levels of web traffic and customer engagement.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
  • Design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals
  • Set specific objectives and report on ROI
  • Generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos, statistics and news)
  • Monitor SEO and web traffic metrics
  • Collaborate with other teams, like marketing, sales and customer service to ensure brand consistency
  • Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews
  • Oversee social media accounts and their design (e.g. Google Ads, Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layout)
  • Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications

Requirements and Skills

  • Proven work experience as a Social Media Manager
  • Hands on experience in content management
  • Excellent copywriting skill
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
  • Knowledge of online marketing channels
  • Familiarity with web design
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Analytical and multitasking skills

Mission Statement

We aim to empower and equip Black and Brown youth and their families who have been impacted by the Criminal Justice System.

Description

We plan to be an Advocate & Resource Center for Black and Brown youth and their families impacted by the Criminal Justice System.

We've established our first program in January of this year (22'), It's a social-emotional learning (SEL) program located in a low-income, inner-city neighborhood in Houston. We've seen upwards of 80 kids so far and have been feeding the community as well. We feed 200 meals a week right now with our program being two days a week right now.

We are building to implement many more programs to fulfill our vision, starting in Houston and expanding globally overtime. Some of these programs include Political Education, Youth Workforce Development, Parenting Program for Parents firmly incarcerated, Reentry Program for Parents, Life skills, Entrepreneurship Program, Mentorship, Angel Investor Program, Food Program-Farming, Mental Health-Holistic Health, Marriage & Family Enrichment Program, Summer Enrichment Program, etc.
