Technology Research Services (TRS) is a nonprofit corporation recognized as a 501C3 charitable organization. TRS focuses on innovative technology based on new and existing research. The company’s core business model focuses on identifying causes impacting our lives, establishing or investigating the needed research, and commercializing the technology needed to make an immediate impact on society. This approach is based on a research-to-rapid prototyping methodology where emphasis is based on short term innovative solutions through the implementation of technology.

TRS was Founded in 2008 and reorganized in 2012, as an education based innovator. Our staff and support team combines industry and academia to identify the latest technology through student-lead research while collaborating with industry leaders to produce solutions impactful to the end-users.

Job duties and responsibilities for the Volunteer Coordinator:

Assist with scheduling the appropriate number of volunteers for various programs

• Maintain awareness and anticipate program needs through communication with the Director of Programs team in order to schedule the appropriate number of volunteers;
• Collaborate with the Director of Programs to develop and maintain a comprehensive list of volunteer opportunities throughout the organization;
• Act as an additional point of contact for all requests for volunteerism & collaborations including, telephone, voicemail, email, and written requests in a timely manner;
• Assist with maintaining the real-time volunteer calendar through Google Calendar, and volunteer opportunities on other sites;
• Assist in planning, organizing, and managing group volunteer events
• Assisting and directing volunteers during program services.

Greet, train, and reflect with volunteer groups and individuals;

• Communicate mission and expectations to volunteers;
• Update volunteer-related material online;
• Solicit involvement

Cultivate volunteers to become financial and/or in-kind supporters

• Develop and maintain relationships with all virtual volunteers to establish an active network of virtual volunteers;
• Assist in converting volunteers to donors;
• Assist in maintaining complete and accurate records including volunteer hours, applications, policies, and procedures;
• Assist with maintaining volunteer correspondence;
• Assist with special events;
• Represent Technology Research Services at various volunteer events

Assist with administrative assistance

• Assist with maintaining social media, website, and e-fundraising initiatives.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent is highly preferred.
• Prior social media management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the nonprofit sector and fundraising a huge plus.
• Donor Management Software Experience is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, research, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Organized with precise attention to detail.
• Outgoing and enthusiastic, ability to lead and instruct.
• Creative and enjoys thinking outside the box.
• Quick thinking, a problem solver, uses a proactive approach to situations.
• Compassionate towards guests and volunteers.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent sense of humor (huge plus).
