Recruiting Organization: Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana
Purpose: Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana (RMHC-CNI) provides housing, support and community so families with sick children can stay together. We rely on a variety of volunteers to fulfill our mission and keep our Houses and Family Rooms running smoothly. The Teen Advisory Council (TAC) is a collection of service-oriented students eager to support RMHC-CNI while learning about philanthropy and nonprofit management. TAC members participate by raising awareness of, funds for and interest in RMHC-CNI in the community.

Key Responsibilities:
- Attend all monthly meetings and actively participate in the TAC for one full school year (August-May).
- Raise awareness about RMHC-CNI by speaking in your school community.
- Work with fellow TAC members to raise funds supporting the organization.
- Volunteer at least 30 hours/year through various opportunities, which may include: completing House/Family Room projects, participating in Meals from the Heart, organizing family activities or volunteering virtually (exact opportunities vary by location).
- Support and attend annual events for the House or Family Room location where you are involved.
- Remain flexible and willing to complete wide-ranging tasks or projects to meet current needs.
Qualifications:
· Must be at least 16 years of age, a current high school junior or senior and have parent/guardian consent to participate.
· Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with other volunteers and RMHC-CNI staff.
· Passionate about RMHC-CNI’s work, and willing to support our mission.
· Service-oriented with an interest in philanthropy and/or nonprofit management.
· Agreement with and alignment to all RMHC-CNI rules, policies and protocols.
· Volunteers must be dependable, trustworthy, friendly and flexible.
· Meet the minimum requirement of 30 volunteer hours per year.
Time Commitment:
· TAC members must commit to attending all monthly meetings for one full school year (August-May).
Training and Support:
· Volunteers must complete an application and commitment letter, attend an orientation session and participate in an interview.
· TAC members report to the House or Family Room Manager where they participate.
