Many of MOWSF’s clients are homebound and isolated, making them unable to go shopping for food and household items. Volunteers are paired with a senior in San Francisco, CA to assist them on a weekly or bi-weekly basis by shopping for essential items they need. Volunteers coordinate directly with our clients to establish a regular shopping schedule.

Requirements:

• 6-month commitment.

• Access to a vehicle.

Meals on Wheels San Francisco serves clients solely in San Francisco, CA. We require all our volunteers to fill out an application on our website, attend an online orientation and one-on-one call with our staff, complete all program related trainings, and submit to a background check.

Meals on Wheels San Francisco (MOWSF) is committed to the belief that all seniors have the right to live independently with dignity and respect in their own homes for as long as safely possible. It is our mission to provide isolated homebound older adults in San Francisco with nutritious meals, daily human contact, and supportive services to prevent their premature institutionalization. Meals on Wheels San Francisco has been providing nutritious, home-delivered meals and services to older San Franciscans since 1970! Meals on Wheels San Francisco believes in delivering more than a meal: we are nourishing the whole person.
