Deliver Household Items to Homebound Seniors

Many of MOWSF’s clients are homebound and isolated. Volunteers deliver household items to seniors in San Francisco, CA. These items can range from meal supplements to small refrigerators to microwaves. These items help our clients maintain their health and independence. Each week our volunteers receive an email with a list of items that need to be delivered and the location of the delivery. Volunteers in this program pick up the items at the Meals on Wheels office in Bayview during office hours and schedule with the client directly for delivery.

Requirements:

• 3-month commitment
• Access to a vehicle.

Meals on Wheels San Francisco serves clients solely in San Francisco, CA. We require all our volunteers to fill out an application on our website, attend an online orientation and one-on-one call with our staff, complete all program related trainings, and submit to a background check.

It is our mission to provide isolated homebound older adults in San Francisco with nutritious meals, daily human contact, and supportive services to prevent their premature institutionalization.
