ORGANIZATION: Billings-Metro VISTA Project
Please visit the new page to apply.
*This is a one year service term as a full-time AmeriCorps VISTA Member beginning July 5, 2022
Member Duties : Help victims of domestic violence easily access critical support services! The Billings PD seeks to create a gateway where multiple confidential services can be accessed in a single location. Take part in creating the Billings Family Justice Center with the Billings-Metro VISTA Project! The overall goal of the project is to organize existing community resources and to co-locate many of them into one facility-a Family Justice Center. Research from the National Institute of Justice shows that the more services and support a victim receives, the better the outcome will be for that victim in achieving safety and independence. The VISTA will: develop a report documenting available community resources, gaps in services, and victims’ perception of available resources; identify funding opportunities to support the development / operations of a Family Justice Center; and develop an online service referral portal to facilitate / expedite referrals between agencies.
Program Benefits : Living Allowance , Training , Health Coverage* , Relocation Allowance , Childcare assistance if eligible , Choice of Education Award or End of Service Stipend .
