Catholic Charities’ concern for struggling families and individuals is ongoing. Unfortunately, the need for outreach and services is growing dramatically. Catholic Charities is responding to this need by reaching out to individuals and families who are hungry and in need of services through the Evening Supper Program. We have the following goals:

  • Provide a delicious and nutritious meal for our guests.
  • Create an atmosphere that is welcoming, safe and dignified; we hope to develop trust with our guests so they take advantage of the wide range of services we offer.
  • Engage community members along with local businesses and area corporations.
  • Provide flyers at so our guests have information on how to access services they may need such as the food pantry, immigration, housing, emergency assistance, and more.

Our Highwood Evening Suppers are an incredible way to interact with the people we serve. We are looking for volunteers to help us set-up, greet guests, serve and clean up. The meal is done with disposable plates, silverware and cups, so clean up is handling the trash and wiping down tables.

Groups!! If your group would like to bring or prepare the meal in addition to serving it, contact us for available dates.

The meals are served every Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. The location is St James Parish, 134 North Avenue. Highwood, IL 60040.
