ORGANIZATION: Animal Help Now
Do you have extensive expertise in UI/UX? Are you looking to put your skills to work in a meaningful, supportive environment? Do you care about animals? Animal Help Now (AHNow) is seeking a volunteer to lead the redesign of our popular web site and phone apps and the design of our new Pet Rescue app, which gives dogs and cats and other animals a better chance to survive wildfires and other disasters.
Our website and phone apps are accessed about a thousand times a day by people looking for help with wildlife emergencies or conflicts or guidance for any number of animal-related issues. We offer our services over four platforms - web, web mobile, iOS, and Android. Most UI/UX improvements are made across all of these.
Currently, AHNow is testing major revisions to the www.AnimalHelpNow.org/mobile, our most popular platform. These revisions will be ready for a full graphics treatment this spring (2022).
The work will involve interacting with the full AHNow tech team, which includes volunteer developers, analysts, QA persons, and communications specialists. This is the organization's first major overhaul of its mobile website, since launching more than 10 years ago.

AHNow is the world's leading wildlife 911 app. AHNow assists with tens of thousands of wildlife emergencies across the United States each year, helping compassionate people who encounter wildlife in need - a bird who has struck a window, an orphaned litter of bunnies, a deer struck by a vehicle, a beached dolphin, etc. - find immediate and effective assistance.
AHNow also assists people who need help with a wildlife conflict (skunks under the porch, birds in the attic, etc.).
Animal Help Now educates the public on how to mitigate threats to wildlife and all animals.
Animal Help Now is a volunteer-driven organization. Our volunteers - including most of our tech team members - combined devote more than 200 hours per month. AHNow gives first priority to its volunteers when hiring paid positions.
