In the last three decades, the number of dumb and deaf children in Mariakani villages has grown steadily.
There are several thousands of dumb and deaf children who spend the majority of their time wandering.
How you can help
You can help with fundraising any amount, proposal writing, and invite donors, NGOs, companies, agencies, foundations, or institutions to donate.

- The cost of building 1 kitchen is US $ 4000
- The cost of building 2 dorms is US $ 8000
- The cost of building 1 library is US $ 4000
- The cost of building 18 toilets is US $ 6000
- The cost of installing electricity is US $ 2000
- Total = US $ 110000
These children are sometimes stigmatized and isolated within their own families, leaving them vulnerable to a large range of isolation, rape, uneducated, and nakedness.
Some of these young people work in the villages, wandering, begging, and in prostitution. In 2020 the Civicom Aid started Leen Special School to meet the needs of vulnerable wandering dumb and deaf children in Mombasa. We implemented a project which aims to deliver support to help dumb and deaf children living and wandering in the villages of Mombasa to get educated to improve their situation and to give them the chance for a better future.
In order to reach our goal, we need to lay an important foundation: The wandering children need 15 classrooms, 1 kitchen, 1 dining, 2 dorms, 1 library, electricity, and 18 toilets! Only if that is provided they have a stable place to go to school.
That is where we need your help!
