We have volunteering opportunities available that have flexible schedules for weekdays and weekends. We are looking for compassionate individuals who want to share their time and heart with others, 18 years is the minimum age. Our volunteers sit with patients and keep them company, listen to their stories and help with the loneliness. Volunteers will read to patients, help with activities that they are interested in, play music and help write cards for patients and or help with holiday mailings. Some volunteers will offer to sit with patients while the family caregivers go out and get a break. We do offer an 11th hour/ vigil opportunity for volunteers who will sit with patients in their last moments of life before their journey ends. this is a honoring time for the families, patient and volunteer.
We can offer these opportunities to Nursing school students or other medical school students looking for volunteer hours for their programs. We will offer Orientation and training and guidance by the volunteer coordinator through the entire process. We do have to follow COVID guidelines, and we do require volunteers to be fully vaccinated. Other requirements include Background checks, drug tests, TB tests, use of your own transportation and vaccination card. If you are searching for a way to make a difference in the lives of others, you belong here. Hopsice volunteers are a valuable part of our care team. Based on your interests and preferences, receive specific volunteer training to help improve the quality of life for others.
We support our volunteers and appreciate the important rolse they play in hospice care. we prepare volunteers with specific training. Volunteering takes no advanced medical training or great commitment. All hospice volunteers are given assignments that best suit their time, skills and interests. YOU BELONG HERE.
