Our mission is to partner with people of diverse ages, abilities, and cultural backgrounds throughout their personal, work, and life journeys. Waystone is seeking talented, dedicated, and community-minded individuals to join our Board of Directors to further our mission.

The role of the Board is to advise the leadership team as it responds to the evolving needs of our clients, their families, and our community. We at Waystone are firmly committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

We are looking for candidates who have a personal relationship with, or connection to, our mission and understand who we are and what we do. Our needs include those who have lived experiences that reflect the diversity of those we support, our employees, and our community. Professionally, we are seeking candidates with a background in general or business law, community leadership, healthcare management at a senior level, accounting/banking, or technology.

The Board of Directors meets six times annually, and members must serve on a committee that matches their area of interest. Committees meet monthly for one hour. This is an unpaid position, and we encourage our Directors to donate commensurate with their capacity.

Description

Welcome to Waystone Health & Human Services. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to serving those with disabilities and significant challenges.

We serve people across the lifespan, starting at the age of three and through the end of life. While we are known for serving people with disabilities, we support a growing number of people with brain injuries, medical and behavioral challenges, dementia, and veterans with service-related disabilities. Our services focus on the whole person by first addressing basic human needs and providing the tools and resources necessary for people to live and grow. Personal goals are then identified and tackled to ensure people thrive and belong in meaningful ways within their communities.

In more than 63 cities and towns across Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire, you will find us in neighborhoods, businesses, community organizations, school districts, and higher education institutions. In our work, we are also committed to addressing economic, racial, and social inequities and creating positive change for those we serve and the communities in which they live and work.

At Waystone, we acknowledge and honor all individuals' fundamental values and dignity. We have always strived to create an ethical and compassionate environment that respects the diversity, traditions, and experiences of all we serve and employ.
