About StoveTeam
Around the world, four billion people still cook using dangerous, smoky open fires, which lead to over four million deaths each year. StoveTeam International is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the mission to facilitate the placement of low-smoke, fuel-efficient, and safe cookstoves in collaboration with local communities to support families and protect the environment. To date, our approach of empowering local people to build and distribute cookstoves in their own regions has enabled us to change the lives of over half a million people. Our dream for the future is the complete eradication of open cooking fires throughout the world: Communities and families thrive because they have been given back their health and their time. In our vision, cooking ceases to be a major contributor to climate change and deforestation, and there is universal global knowledge that daily cooking over open fires is hazardous to health and the environment.
