Volunteers are needed to staff the Story Street Pantry mobile food pantry trailer at multiple locations during the summer 2022 schedule in Council Bluffs and Pottawattamie County. Volunteers will assist clients with completing required USDA paperwork and fill client food orders.

The mission of Story Street Pantry is to offer healthy, nutritious food at no cost to people in need, while always treating our clients with the highest level of dignity and respect.
Description
Story Street Pantry is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) food pantry organization which was created to unify the efforts of the Our Savior's Lutheran Food and Pet Food Pantry (Council Bluffs, IA- Est:1973), Carter Lake Community Presbyterian Food and Pet Food Pantry (Carter Lake, IA), Riverside Food Pantry (Oakland, IA), and San Andres Lutheran Food Pantry (Omaha, NE), and to develop new partnerships and programs to reach underserved populations. In addition to our four fixed-site pantry locations, Story Street Pantry operates a mobile food pantry trailer at multiple locations in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, and Southwest Iowa.

- Depending on the location, each mobile food pantry requires a 2 to 3 hour time commitment.
- Mobile Pantry Volunteers work both inside the mobile food pantry trailer and outside in all types of weather and temperatures. Depending on the work task, volunteers will approach clients and may lift up to 20 lbs of food items.
