Do you have a dog who just loves attention? Or a playful pup that would benefit from an extra game of fetch?
The James L. West Senior Day Program has now opened at it's expanded new location at 6050 Harris Parkway in Fort Worth, TX.
We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to do Pet Therapy or Friendly pet visits with our participants.
Your pet must be up to date on it's shots, have no signs of flea/tick infestation, be well-groomed and generally have a temperament that would make it appropriate for visiting a group of senior citizens.

Description
The James L West Alzheimer Center was founded to honor the memory of Fort Worth business leader and philanthropist James L. West. When Mr. West was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, he and his wife shared a wish that a center devoted to the care of persons with dementia be made available for north Texans. To honor that wish and his memory, in 1991 Mrs. West directed the James L. and Eunice P. West Charitable Trust, through First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth, to provide major funding for construction of a nondenominational facility dedicated solely to caring for persons with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. The Center's philosophy of compassionate, affordable care for its residents and families is a result of Mrs. West's tribute to her husband and continues to guide the decision-making of the board and the staff. In addition to residential and adult day care services, the center serves as a training site for local students of medical professions.
