Are you ready to party and help a worthy cause? The 1911 Initiative is hosting a fundraising party, and you're invited! Every year, we host A Stone Cold Groove Party with a Purpose in Monee, Illinois. For the past seven years, Chicagoans have come together to raise money for local non-profits (different organization selected each year) that focus on elevating our Chicago youth and young adults through educational opportunities. This year, we are supporting No Matter What (www.nmwchicago.org).
Volunteers will join us at the party, while also assisting us with the logistics of setting up, maintaining and breaking down the event. For your efforts, you'll be served either breakfast and lunch, or lunch and dinner, you'll receive an event t-shirt, AND you'll be able to enjoy the party!

Mission Statement
Created & Founded in 2015 by Kenneth Griffin, No Matter What (NMW) is a black-owned, operated, and managed nonprofit that works to support Chicagoland Youth meet their highest potential- NO MATTER WHAT! The 1911 Initiative is a Chicago-based non-profit, whose mission is to disrupt the inequitable social constructs that plague our disenfranchised Chicagoland youth and young adults, providing them opportunities to excel educationally, and to equip them as leaders who will further elevate their communities.
Description
For the past six years, NMW has worked to provide Chicagoland youth life experiences that they might not otherwise have. This year, we’re proud host Millie’s Camp, and immersive, week-long educational experience for high school students to explore a host of interests, including cooking, gardening, sports, computer science, art, theater, music and dance.

- Each shift will run from 4-8 hours. However, if you only have a couple of hours to donate just select the shift which best suits your time.
- The event is entirely outdoors. We ask you for you to work for your entire shift but if you only have a few hours to donate just pick the best shift for your time. Please dress comfortably.
