Academic Mentor
Are you interested in lifting kids' confidence and helping them perform better in school?
We are seeking Academic Mentors to help uplift students and guide them through their learning journey. You can tutor/mentor virtually from anywhere. Help us encourage and empower students, and improve their learning process.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one on one tutoring/mentoring to assigned student at least once weekly.
- Help students to improve their learning process.
- Detect specific needs of students.
- Review materials used in the student's classes, explain various topics, and answer doubts and questions of the student regarding topics.
- Regularly communicate with parents to provide updates on their child's progress, reminders about upcoming sessions, materials list for individual sessions, and other communications.
- Report progress with student to program directors/supervisors as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience mentoring and/or tutoring.
- Must have excellent communication, planning, organizing, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
Time: 1.5 hours per week
Subjects: Math, Science, English, Writing, Social Studies, ELA [English Language Arts] and more!
Location: Volunteer virtually from anywhere in the United States
