Recruiting Organization: Silent No Longer Tennessee

As a Silent No Longer Tennessee (SNLT) Community Outreach Volunteer you will represent the organization at public events and assist community members and/or participants with questions, provide materials, assist with setup/teardown, and other duties.

Key Duties:

• Assist with staffing booths and exhibits at health fairs, conferences, community events, enrollment events and other locations as requested.
• Disseminate SNLT flyers, brochures, resource lists and other materials
• Assist in the planning of special events
• Research community outreach event opportunities
• Photographing or video recording events (Not required of all volunteers)
• Complete Material Use and Service Request forms when applicable
• Recruit other volunteers
• Adhere to our standard of conduct, principles of non violence and confidentiality agreement at all times
• Treat everyone to interact with in a polite, professional and respectful manner
• Log your volunteer hours in our database within 72 hours following the event
• Other duties as may be required

Qualifications:

• Minimum Age: 16 years - if under 18, a parent or legal guardian must also sign the Volunteer Agreement.
• Successfully pass the screening process - depending on the position, a background check may be required.
• Complete the Volunteer Orientation
• Attend the Outreach and Event Volunteer Training and receive a minimum score of 70% on the quiz

Skills Required:

Strong communication, ability and willingness to speak with diverse members of the community, good working knowledge of our mission, goals, programs and services, willingness and ability to answer questions or provide information where the answer can be found, ability to lift up to 12 pound, reliable transportation.
