Olympia Youth Chorus Board Member

Save to Favorites

Olympia Youth Chorus is looking for three new board members to join our team. We are advocates for youth and the Arts and we are looking for people who share these values. Our shared focus is on raising the profile of our organization locally as we work to recruit young singers and create opportunities for them to perform, enriching our community.

Our board meets in October, February, April, and June, and conducts a season sponsorship drive from November to February in which board members are expected to participate, making contacts in the community. Meetings have been held remotely via ZOOM during COVID, but we look forward to meeting in person again very soon.

If you feel inspired to lend your voice to our organization and support our mission, we would love to hear from you and answer any questions you may have about our organization. Thank you for considering this opportunity. We look forward to meeting you.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to nurture the appreciation of the choral arts and the shared experience of creating fine choral music with children of all backgrounds.

Since its debut in 1995, Olympia Youth Chorus has been developing young voices and promoting excellence in choral performance in the greater Thurston County area. The chorus includes four choirs with singers in Kindergarten through 12th grade who perform locally, regionally, and also tour nationally and internationally. Every December, the choirs conduct a benefit concert for a local charity in their "Kids Helping Kids" initiative. Past organizations have included Homeless Teen Backpacks, Little Red Schoolhouse, Family Education and Support Center, Rosie's Place, and Camp Hope America Washington.
