Grace Place is currently looking for volunteers to work with our Elementary School Summer camp! Students in 1st grade through 5th grade will be attending our camp, Monday - Friday this summer, and we are looking for volunteers to assist in the classrooms! Several shifts and opportunities are available. Tutors willing to work one-on-one or in small groups with students assisting with homework, reading partners, math or even mentoring are in high demand. If you want to provide a special lesson in art, gardening, music, wellness activities or a specific academic lesson there is an opportunity for you! No prior experience teaching necessary just a desire to help those helping themselves! Shifts available will be 9 am - 12 pm, and 12:30 - 4:30 pm, and we will ask you to commit to one shift per week. For more information, contact Colleen Durham at 239-255-7213 or colleen.durham@graceplacenaples.org

Mission Statement

Grace Place puts faith into action - providing pathways out of poverty by educating children and families.

Description

Grace Place is a faith-based nonprofit educational organization that serves the families of Golden Gate City. We believe that education transforms lives, promotes dignity and enhances self-esteem. We understand that an investment in the education of all members of the family - child, adolescent and adult - creates a powerful educational culture in the home and long-term achievement for both children and families. We believe education is the key to breaking the inter-generational cycle of poverty.
