Flying Pig Thrift is looking for additional Board members to assist with:
*Digital Marketing/Social Media
*Coordination and ongoing training of Volunteers;
*Fundraising and Grant-writing; and
*Networking (making connections with people and other organizations in the Community).
Can you join us?
We are a singlel location nonprofit thrift store at 722 Snelling Ave. N. in the Hamline-Midway neighborhood in St Paul. We support other nonprofits who work for non-violence and social and economic justice. We'd like volunteer Board memers who have some prior Board, business or professional experience. The time commitment is about 4-8 hours per month including of 60-90 min. for 1 Board meeting each month, plus 3-5 hours spread over the month to assist with a Committee or with specific Board projects and needs. Board meetings are the third Monday each month at 7 pm (via Zoom). We're a welcoming and diverse group of people of all ages and many interests, and we hope you're interested in meeting with us to talk about this opportunity! Mission Statement
Flying Pig Thrift exists to honor the founder's sister Heather Valdez by providing a unique, energizing and downright fun nonprofit thrift store where shoppers can find thrifty treasures while benefiting local nonprofits.
Description
Flying Pig Thrift celebrated its 4th "Piggiversary" in July 2023. The store is a nonprofit in the Midway-Hamline neighborhood of St Paul. The store sells only items that have been donated. This helps keep overhead costs as low as possible. Another way we work on keep overhead costs low is by having only 2 paid part time employees and using Volunteers to staff the store. We would love to have you join us! Volunteers usually sign up for one 4- hour shift per week, and can assist with all aspects of daily store operations, from the cash register, to sorting and stocking donations, to setting up window and merchandise displays -- Volunteers do it all at Flying Pig Thrift!
