Flying Pig Thrift is looking for 4-5 additional Board members to assist with:

*Coordination and oversight of Artists and their work displayed in the Store;
*Coordination and ongoing training of Volunteers;
*Fundraising and Grant-writing; and
*Networking (making connections with people and other organizations in the Community).

Can you join us?

We are a 4-year old nonprofit thrift store at 722 Snelling Ave. N. in the Hamline-Midway neighborhood in St Paul. We support other nonprofits who work for non-violence and social and economic justice.

We'd like volunteers with prior Board experience but we'd also be delighted to meet you if you have no Board experience but have experience or skills in the specific areas listed above. The time commitment is 4-8 hours per month consisting of 60-90 min. for 1 Board meeting each month, plus 3-5 hours spread over the month to assist with a Committee or with specific Board projects and needs. Board meetings are the second Monday each month at 6 pm (via Zoom or live in the store). We're a welcoming and diverse group of people of all ages and many interests, and we hope you're interested in meeting with us to talk about this opportunity! Flying Pig Thrift exists to honor Heather Valdez by providing a unique, energizing and downright fun nonprofit thrift shop where shoppers can find thrifty treasures while benefiting local nonprofits.

Description

Flying Pig Thrift celebrated its 3rd "Piggiversary" in July 2022. The store is in the Midway-Hamline neighborhood of St Paul. The store operates almost completely with Volunteers and all merchandise is donated. We would love to meet you and discuss how this opportunity We operate with a steady stream of both volunteers and donations, and would love to have you join us! Volunteers usually sign up for one 4- hour shift per week, and can assist with all aspects of daily stoe operations, from the cash register, to sorting and stocking donations, to setting up window and merchandise displays -- Volunteers do it all at Flyingn Pig Thrift!
