Delivering a hot meal and a smile makes sure older residents get the nutrition they need, plus friendly interaction and a daily safety check. Volunteers are a very important piece of the meals on wheels program, ensuring city residents get hot meals 5 days week, 52 weeks a year. Be part of what helps so many people remain independent at home and gives caregivers peace of mind. Food insecurity has increased in recent years and Meals on Wheels programs ensure older adults get a nutritionally balanced meal, plus access to additional resources.

The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from one to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, health care facilities, parks, museums, libraries and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of older Americans with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
