Donations made up almost 60% of the food Emergency Food Network provided to food pantries, meal sites, and shelters in Pierce County in 2021. However, we have already seen a decrease in these in-kind food donations so far in 2022. You can help by hosting a Food & Fund Drive with EFN! The food you donate will go directly to our 75+ Partner Programs to give to our neighbors in need and the funds will be used to purchase food and pay freight for donated truckloads of food.

During this time of year, we want to encourage you to collect peanut butter for your drive! Peanut butter is a very versatile food and great source of protein that people of all ages often enjoy, so we love receiving it. In addition, the recent Jif peanut butter recall has left a lot of the food pantries we serve with much less peanut butter to give out, so they would really love your donations!

About Emergency Food Network

Location:

3318 92nd Street South, Lakewood, WA 98499, US

Mission Statement

The mission of Emergency Food Network is "to provide Pierce County with a consistent, diverse and nutritious food supply so that no person goes hungry."

Description

"Currently, 1 in 10 people in Pierce County face food insecurity, and this need is continuing to rise. Through our 75+ Partner Programs (food pantries, meal sites, and shelters) all over Pierce County, EFN distributed over 14 million pounds of food in 2023 to our neighbors in need, including fresh produce grown at EFN’s Mother Earth Farm. This work was made possible by our 2,000+ volunteers, who worked over 12,000 hours in 2023. Volunteer work is vital in helping EFN pursue our mission of ensuring no person goes hungry. Volunteer opportunities include the Repack Project, Home Delivery, EFN’s Mother Earth Farm, and special events throughout the year. We hope you will join us!"
