Drive cancer patients to their appointments - American Cancer Society

ORGANIZATION: American Cancer Society

Road to Recovery

Many advances have been made in the fight against cancer. As a result, more people than ever can
survive their personal battle with the disease. Unfortunately, when cancer patients do not have the
means to actually get to and from their treatment facility, what stands between them and a cure
may be a ride.

Road to Recovery is an American Cancer Society program designed to ensure that cancer patients have transportation to and from medical facilities for treatments. Volunteer drivers provide patients with a ride in order to keep them on their regular treatment schedule.

Volunteers choose the rides that work best for their schedule. Most rides are scheduled during the weekday between 7am and 7pm and the rides will be conducted in volunteer's vehicle. Training and COVID vaccination is required to perform this important volunteer duty.
