ORGANIZATION: Peacehealth United General Medical Center

Purpose: Provide cashiering duties and provide customer service to patrons who visit the Gift Nook


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Meet and greet Gift Nook patrons
  • Complete sales transactions including counting change; operating credit card machine, adding machine and electronic cash register; and balancing transactions at the end of a shift
  • Assist in pricing, stocking and displaying merchandise in the Gift Nook

Qualifications:

  • Possess strong verbal communication skills
  • Show a friendly, positive manner and enjoy contact with individuals of all backgrounds
  • Demonstrate a willingness to keep current with hospital happenings
  • Responsible, outgoing and willingness to take initiative
  • Experience working, volunteering or recreating in a healthcare setting a plus
  • Must participate in required initial and updated training
  • Able to complete a pre-assigned shift on a regularly assigned weekday
  • Able to attend periodic meetings
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Display personal accountability regarding the handling of cash and other forms of payment

  • Excellent communication/conversation skillset
  • Show dependability and commitment to service
