If you are 55 - 99 years old and have not been medically diagnosed with a memory issue, then please join us in Boca Raton to participate in a multi-cultural Healthy Brain Study at University of Miami's neurology department research center in Boca Raton. We are looking for older adult volunteers to help improve our understanding of healthy brain aging, risk factors, and predictors of memory disorders. Volunteers participate in a series of comprehensive assessments and screenings and receive feedback on results to learn valuable insight and information about their cognition. There is no charge for participation. All data collected is deidentified from research participants.

Participation requires 3 separate days scheduled within a few weeks of each other. (1) Visit our center for 3 - 4 hours for screenings in cognition skills, memory, neuropsychology, vitals, and a blood draw. (2 ) MRI of the brain/head only done at an imaging center in Boca/Delray area. (3) Visit our center for 2 hours for hearing, vision, lung function, and physical function assessments. Volunteers are compensated $150 at the conclusion of the three parts.

A Study Partner is also required. This is someone who knows you/participant very well (spouse, close friend, sibling, adult child) to answer questions about you. A study partner can be in-person with you or remotely. (Their time is only 30 minutes on your first day ).

This is an observational study and not a treatment or intervention. This is a longitudinal study visit, so participants visit us annually for 5 years for the same tests (except MRI is only done in years 1, 3, 5). Each year participants learn their assessment results.
