Your opportunity, as a volunteer with Five Talents' headquarters in Falls Church, is to have a positive impact on the lives of tens of thousands of members of Savings Groups around the world. These groups provide members with skills such as literacy and business management, so that they can start their own small enterprises and lift themselves and their families out of poverty. It's important to remember, however, that you can actually help alleviate more than just the suffering caused by the pandemic. COVID-19 is only one of the deadly challenges facing Five Talents' partners in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Flooding, landslides and locust infestations are all having devastating effects in different regions, especially on the most vulnerable living in rural areas - right where Five Talents members are. Five Talents is working with Savings Groups to lessen the harm caused to families by COVID and these other crises. The strong partnerships Five Talents has with local churches play a key role in building up the resiliency of these Savings Groups. All our groups are church-affiliated, and in times of crisis, the communities look to the church. And so we continue deepening the church partnerships, and benefiting from the integrity and credibility of the church and church leadership, to get our groups on track.
