We are a non-profit organization building an infrastructure to develop, manufacture, distribute and operate oxygen concentrators designed to address the specific challenges of developing countries. Your Impact
The Controller helps establish and direct the organization’s financial goals and objectives, its budget, and Financial Plan. The Controller has primary responsibility for ensuring that internal controls are in place, enforced, and reviewed periodically for conformance to accounting and financial standards and applicable regulations.

Your Responsibilities

  • Advises Top Management on financial reporting processes for a non-profit.
  • Analyzes financial statements, and prepares reports and recommendations to Top Management and the Board of Directors concerning financial performance.
  • Annually creates a capital plan that aligns with overall business plans and strategies, and reviews the capital plan with Top Management and the Board of Directors.
  • Arranges and run financial management meetings, and prepares financial reports and presentations for scheduled financial management meetings.
  • Assesses risks and exposure due to business conducted in foreign currency, prepares a report and recommendations for dealing with foreign currencies, and follows and executes the established foreign exchange management policy.
  • Directs the development of financial plans to meet the needs of the Company’s operations.
  • Ensures that processes needed for the financial management system are established, implemented, and maintained.
  • Manages banking relationships, the check signing authority process, and alerts all individuals and banks of any changes to authority.
  • Prepares and submits all financial statements as required by law.
  • Safeguards all company information and determines the appropriate level of detail for release.

Requirements
Certified Public Accountant desirable

A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or other suitable field of study is required; a master’s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration is preferred.

Must have 5+ years of experience as a financial executive and leader with industry experience. Must be a visionary and creative person with sound judgment and technical skills, analytical ability, and ability to focus and prioritize multiple - and sometimes competing - projects. High moral and ethical standards are required.

Every Year 4.2 million children under 5 are desperate for oxygen. 800,000 mothers lose their child every year because of Pneumonia, a lung disease often requiring oxygen. This toll is higher than for any other disease in the world. What hospitals in the US and Europe consider one of the most essential treatments is not available for many. The problem, oxygen concentrators keep breaking down in the high humidity, temperature and dust environments, burn through during energy spikes when the power comes back online after one of the many outages or simply breaks and nobody knows how to repair it.

We have set out to change this and develop an oxygen concentrator that will make public health investments much more effective. Our first calculations suggest that we could lower the cost of a child's life by as much as two-thirds. Due to our organization working with volunteers we can reduce the development cost but bringing a medical device to market is hard work and we expect that you meet the requirements and are responsive and transparent with your skills and availability.
