Camp Connect provides fun and unique events for separated siblings in foster care. Each year, it organizes a fun-filled three-night, four-day summer camp in the mountains of Julian. Siblings connect through activities such as horseback riding, swimming, music therapy and zip lining, among others.

Volunteers are needed for the send-off on the first day (location in San Diego TBD), and throughout the weekend at the camp in Julian, CA.

This opportunity include meals, snacks and accommodations at no cost to volunteers. Transportation to/from Julian will be provided to volunteers arriving on August 4th and returning August 7th. Volunteers arriving to camp on Thursday or Saturday will need to provide transportation to/from Julian.

Volunteers are required to:

• Be 21 years or older
• Pass a San Diego County background check
• Be fully vaccinated
• Attend one of four Summer Camp Connect 101 trainings in July
• Chose a timeframe. While we hope volunteers will stay through the entire event, you can opt for a shorter period of time to volunteer. Various shifts are available:
  • Shift #1: Send-off on Thursday, August 4th from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM only (location in San Diego TBD)
  • Shift #2: Send-off and Camp from Thursday, August 4th at 11:00 AM to Sunday, August 7th at 12:00 PM (transportation to/from Julian provided) * Best choice!
  • Shift #3: Camp from Thursday, August 4th at 2:00 PM to Saturday, August 6th at 10:00 AM
  • Shift #4: Camp from Saturday, August 6th at 8:00 AM to Sunday, August 7th at 12:00 PM

Detailed instructions will be provided to each volunteer closer to the dates of camp.
