Would you like to join the Washington Academy of Sciences (WAS) and help celebrate its 125th anniversary in 2023?
Come to our banquet on May 12, 2023
(membership is not needed).

The George Washington Masonic National Memorial at the Grand Masonic Hall,
101 Callahan Drive, Alexandria, VA 22301.
Free admission to the Memorial and parking with purchase of a banquet ticket.
It is a great way to meet other scientists.

We are seeking new members from science, engineering, mathematics and technology (STEM) fields:

Science Fair judges for schools in the DC area are also welcome;

Mission Statement

The objectives of the Washington Academy of Sciences (hereinafter called the Academy) shall be: (a) to stimulate interest in the sciences, both pure and applied; and (b) to promote their advancement and the development of their philosophical aspects by the Academy membership and through cooperative action by the Affiliated Societies.

Description

The Academy publishes a periodical, occasional scientific monographs and such other books or pamphlets as may be deemed desirable. The Academy conducts public lectures of broad scope and interest in the fields of science. The Academy sponsors a Washington Junior Academy of Sciences (WJAS). The Academy promotes science education and a professional interest in science. The Academy awards prizes and citations for special merit in sciences.
