Home Start is seeking an organized, dependable volunteer to help them design, coordinate, and implement projects through group volunteer events at Home Start owned housing properties. This volunteer would help identify property improvement opportunities for groups (e.g. painting, gardening), help solicit donations from local community partners, and assist with project design.

This position is a great opportunity for someone interested in building restoration or similar outdoor work that wants to support Home Start's mission to prevent child abuse and neglect.

Time Commitment: 2-6 hours per week

Duties and Responsibilities

Help identify improvement projects group volunteers could do at Home Start properties.

Design project parameters and identify associated project materials / tools required.

Solicit in-kind donations from local home improvement, gardening and other local retailers.

Assist with project scheduling.

Communicate project updates to staff, supervisors, partners, and volunteers in a timely and professional manner.

Maintain updated database of solicitation targets and donations.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills/Abilities

Knowledge / interest in gardening and home improvement is preferred.
