The Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program needs YOU!
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated volunteers to be a voice for residents in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. We have volunteer opportunities in 17 counties in Ohio: Erie, Sandusky, Ottawa, Wood, Lucas, Fulton, Henry, Williams, Defiance, Paulding, Hancock, Hardin, Allen, Auglaize, Putnam, Van Wert, and Mercer. As an Ombudsman volunteer, you'll:
- Visit residents: Offer companionship and a friendly ear.
- Identify concerns: Help resolve issues and improve quality of life.
- Advocate for rights: Ensure residents are treated with dignity and respect.
- Be a vital link: Connect residents with the resources they need.
No prior experience is necessary - we provide comprehensive training and ongoing support. What you do need is empathy, good listening skills, and a commitment to making a positive impact.
