The Association of Latino Professionals for America, Philadelphia Professional Chapter, is searching for a Marketing Intern to be responsible for designing and posting original content on ALPFA Philadelphia’s online platforms. The responsibilities of the Marketing Intern include participating in the development of a marketing plan, assisting in the development and maintenance of the calendar of marketing activities, posting content on social media, designing graphic material, and engaging sponsors and members via social media.

To be successful as our Marketing Intern, you should be highly motivated, creative, and possess solid knowledge of marketing competencies. The Marketing Intern should be computer literate, highly organized, and able to work with little direction. The Marketing Intern will report to the Marketing Director.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms while maintaining a unified brand voice across different social media channels.
  • Assist in the creation and editing of written, video, and photo content.
  • Supporting a results-driven marketing strategy.
  • Attend both in-person and virtual events as needed and produce live social media content.
  • Support the marketing team in the creation of an editorial calendar and marketing strategy.
  • Monitor social media channels for industry trends.
  • Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries, and comments.
  • Review analytics and create reports on key metrics.
Required Qualifications / Skills:
  • Passion for & proficiency with major social media platforms.
    • Eg.: Canva, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, Flickr, and Hootsuite.
  • Proficiency with video and photo editing tools, and digital media formats.
  • Excellent social listening skills.
  • Ability to understand historical, current, and future trends in the digital content and social media space.
  • Strong copywriting and copy-editing skills.
  • Strong oral and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills under deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented approach with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and Google Suite
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work in a virtual team environment.
Desired Qualifications / Skills:
  • Proficiency in HTML, SEO.
  • B2C social media marketing or content development.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Premiere Pro) or equivalent digital media editing tools.
  • We are seeking volunteer interns that can provide at least a 3-month commitment, 6 months to a year is preferred.
Education & Experience:
  • Must provide work samples or a portfolio of work.
  • Must be pursuing a degree in marketing or a related field.
  • 0-2 years experience in marketing and communications.
