Front Desk Volunteers at Thunderbird Arts Center are the face of the Center! They are responsible for greeting our patrons and assisting with front desk operations. On a daily basis, they interact with guests, staff, artists, and students. This position helps to extend the resources of the Center and provides the opportunity for volunteers to engage with local community members.
Every 40 hours of volunteer work at the Center earns you one FREE art class.
Volunteer shifts available at Thunderbird Arts Center in North Phoenix:
- Tuesdays, 1 to 5 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m.
- Wednesdays, 1 to 5 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m.
- Thursdays, 1 to 5 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m.
- Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 to 5 p.m.
Training and Supervision:
- Required front desk training
- Will report to Patron Services Lead
Main Job Duties:
- Be on time and enthusiastic each day
- Notify Patron Services Lead of any illness or absence as soon as possible
- Greet guests, students and staff
- Answer phone calls
- Enroll students in art classes
- Maintain front desk space
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 18 years old
- Ability to lift 25 pounds as needed
- Detail Oriented
- Time Management Skills

09:00 AM to 01:00 PM
Morning shifts are available Saturdays at the north Phoenix location.

01:00 PM to 05:00 PM
Afternoon shifts are available Tuesday through Thursday, and Saturdays at the north Phoenix location.

01:00 PM to 05:00 PM
Weekend afternoon shifts are available Saturdays at the north Phoenix location.

05:00 PM to 09:00 PM
Evening shifts are available Tuesday through Thursday at the north Phoenix location.

Description
Phoenix Center for the Arts is a Central Arts Alliance facility located adjacent to Hance Park, at 1202 N Third Street in Downtown Phoenix. Central Arts Alliance is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, providing arts and culture opportunities for all through education, programming, and advocacy. Phoenix Center for the Arts is proud to be a facility of and supported by the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department. Phoenix Center for the Arts is supported in part by an award from the Arizona Commission on the Arts, an agency of the State of Arizona. Partial funding provided by the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture through appropriations from the Phoenix City Council.
