Celebrate the 4th of July by assisting with the setup, activities, and-or cleanup, of the 4th of July Family Family Festival and Fireworks at Lake Almaden.
General Help Needed
- Assist with event setup in the late afternoon on Sunday July 3 or in the morning on July 4;
- Provide an overnight presence to secure site during 1 or more of 3 shifts Sunday July 3 into Monday July 4 or 1 or more of 3 shifts Monday July 4 into Tuesday July 5 (must be 18 years or older to volunteer though adult volunteers may bring an older youth if related);
- Assist with games and activities, trash cleanup, and miscellaneous tasks during the actual event, 1:00pm to 9:00pm, Monday, July 4;
- Assist with event tear-down and clean-up during 1 or both of 2 shifts Tuesday July 5.
Specialized Help and Sponsorship Opportunities
- Businesses or organizations to provide family-oriented activities (must fit in a 10' x 10' or 10' x 20' space; suggestions - face painting, fake tattoos, photo booth, paper crafts, giant Jenga, giant Connect 4, giant Checkers, giant Chess, Hopscotch, martial arts demonstrations, Corn Hole, miniature golf or putting green, lawn bowling... anything else you think will be fun for kids );
- Businesses or organizations to provide health-education activities or materials.

Mission Statement
Midtown Family Services' mission is to assist individuals and families who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless, become self-sufficient in housing and interdependent domains through timely and evidence-based interventions.
Description
Midtown Family Services provides support for low-income individuals/families living in San Jose and surrounding communities in two program areas: navigation services for low income, working, members of the community with basic needs, especially help applying for rent/deposit assistance; and reentry of individuals back into the community after incarceration in state prison. Midtown operates two 10-bed residences for men returning from state prison. Midtown expects to open a third, and possibly fourth, residence in late 2021.

REQUIREMENTS
- 4-hour shifts. Volunteers may sign up for more than 1 shift.
- Volunteers serving during daytime hours (9:00am to 9:00pm) must be 14 or up unless accompanied by someone 18 or older. A signed permission slip will be required for those under 18. Volunteers serving overnight must be 18 or older.
