Volunteer needed in Detroit. As a World Heritage Area Representative, you will be the most important link in the chain connecting all the individuals involved in the World Heritage exchange experience. You will be the most visible to the exchange students, host families, and high schools. What are some of the responsibilities of a World Heritage Area Representative? World Heritage Area Representatives wear many different hats: Publicize World Heritage in their local communities Recruit and screen prospective host families Conduct host family orientations Recruit high school students to spend an academic year overseas Conduct student orientations Offer support and guidance to exchange students and their host families during the exchange year assisting with and advising on problems that may arise Plan and organize social and recreational activities for the exchange students.

Description
World Heritage International Student Exchange ("World Heritage") is a non-profit public benefit organization affiliated with and operating under the sponsorship of ASSE International. World Heritage is dedicated to fostering cultural enrichment and intercultural understanding through youth exchange programs. Founded in 1980 as Spanish Heritage and focusing mainly on the Hispanic culture, World Heritage has since expanded its program to embrace many other nationalities. From a universal perspective, World Heritage is contributing to global harmony by promoting closer ties of friendship between the people of the participating countries.
World Heritage programs are conducted in accordance with the regulations established by the U.S. Department of State and the standards established by the U.S.A. Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET). World Heritage is also a member of the Alliance for International Exchange.
