As part of an affiliation with the Unity Garden at St. Luke's, join experienced gardeners and other volunteers at LaChat Town Farm's Giving Garden, located in beautiful Weston, CT. All vegetables and herbs grown are donated to local food pantries in Fairfield County, including Person-to-Person. We get our hands in the soil and do such things as plant, harvest, weed, seed, etc.... It's a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, the camaraderie of others and even learn more about vegetable gardening. No experience is necessary!
With the continued impact of Covid and rising food costs, we expect the need for food donations to increase this year.
When applying, expect to be contacted by us to introduce our mission and vision before you volunteer.

Mission Statement
Our mission to build ongoing mutual relationships that allow us to work alongside our neighbors.
Description
In 1968, a small group of volunteers from St. Luke's Parish started Person-to-Person, providing food and clothing out of a closet in the parish offices. Today, this wholly owned subsidiary of the parish continues as an on-site social service agency supporting the regions needy with food, clothing, furniture, counseling and scholarship aid.
Last year, St. Luke's built a vegetable garden on-site in Darien and also affiliated with a giving garden at LaChat Town Farm in Weston. Vegetables and herbs grown in these gardens are donated to Person-to-Person's food pantry.
