Mercado Food Hub Spanish-Speaking Phone Volunteers - Gleaners works to provide nutritious emergency and supplemental food to members of the community in a way that is dignified and respectful. Spanish-speaking volunteers are needed to answer phones and schedule pantry visit appointments on the computer. Volunteers must be age 18 or older and a background check is required. Volunteers needed on Mondays from 9am-1:30pm, Tuesdays 9am-1:30pm, Wednesdays, 1:30pm-5:30pm, Saturdays from 9am-1:30pm. We are looking for weekly volunteers.

For more than 40 years, Gleaners Community Food Bank has been "feeding hungry people and nourishing our communities." Last year, Gleaners distributed 42 million pounds of emergency food to 499 partner soup kitchens, shelters and pantries in Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, and Monroe counties.


Of every dollar donated, Gleaners uses 97 cents for food and food programs. One dollar provides three meals for a hungry neighbor.
