Position: Special Projects Volunteer
Reports To: Volunteer Coordinator
Job Description Summary
The special projects volunteer is a member of the interdisciplinary team with a desire to support patients and families through making items such as lap blankets, catheter bag covers or other similar items.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Sew, quilt, knit or crochet comfort items for patients including but not limited to lap blankets, catheter bag covers, wheelchair/walker bags, clothing protectors and fidget items.
- Deliver items to hospice office or arrange for pickup
- Utilize other artistic skills as requested
- Complete accurate, objective, timely documentation of volunteer activities
- Participates in relevant education activities to provide competent support to patients and caregivers and to promote professional growth.
Position Qualifications
- Ability to communicate well with people of diverse background and ages
- Able to respect confidentiality at all times
- Self-motivated, dependable and responsible
- Able to work independently
- Must be 16 years of age
