What do we need help with?
We need volunteers to assist with distribution of food items and school supplies, as well as location setup and clean up.
Volunteer Hours: 7am -2pm
Location: Windcrest Civic Center, 9310 Jim Seal Dr, Windcrest, TX 78239
Requirements:
- Age: 18 years and older
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long extended period of time
- Available to volunteer for 4 to 6 hours on event day (July 23rd, 2022)
- Dress Code: Volunteers must wear closed toed shoes and comfortable clothes. Additional information will be provided prior to the event.
- Volunteers are welcome to register as a group.
- Organizations are welcome to volunteer as a team.
Volunteer Efforts at Grace Pavilion Community Outreach (GPCO) will include assisting with food and school supplies, sorting, arrangement and distribution.
What kind of event are we organizing? We are organizing a free Health-Fair & Back-2-School community event to support students and families towards 2022/2023 school year. This is an opportunity to connect community members with healthcare resources to enhance health promotion. Here are the services we will be providing:
- Free Health Screening: Mammogram & Vaccination; Wellness Check (BMI, Blood & Sugar, and Blood Pressure Check); Dental & Eye Screening; HIV/AIDS Testing etc.
- Free Backpacks with school supplies for student’s Pre-K to 12th Grade.
- Free Food Distribution (non-perishable)
- Community and healthcare resources from vendors and health providers

Description
GPCO is a 501(c)3 located in San Antonio Texas. Our outreach services include free health and dental services, free school supplies and food distribution.
Annual Health-Fair & Back-to-School Bash: The fair offers a variety of free health-screenings, educational giveaways and much more. We distribute over 2,000 free school supplies to student's Pre-K to 12th grade. Health Screenings include Mammogram, Vaccination, Wellness Check, Dental Screening, Eye Screening, HIV/AIDS Testing and more.
Dental Outreach: GPCO partners with Encino Family Dentistry to provide dental cleaning and extractions to eligible persons at no cost.
Feeding the Homeless: We serve the homeless community every 4th Tuesday of the month. This effort is in in partnership with Church Under the Bridge in Downtown San Antonio.
