ORGANIZATION: CASA of San Joaquin County

Be A CASA Hero Volunteer

Do you have 10-15 hours a month to help a foster child?

Become a CASA. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) are volunteers, trained to advocate for children in foster care in the courtroom, classroom, and community.

CASA of San Joaquin County matches each CASA with a staff member, who works with them on their case. CASA of San Joaquin County is the only nonprofit organization in San Joaquin County designated by the Court to recruit, train, and lead CASA volunteers.

Currently, there are almost 1,600 children in San Joaquin’s foster care system. Many of these children are in constant crisis and feel very much alone UNTIL they find their CASA!

If you’re ready for the role of a lifetime, if you’re ready to help create a brighter future for a foster child, contact CASA of San Joaquin County today!

About CASA of San Joaquin County

Location:

127 N Sutter St, STOCKTON, CA 95202, US

Mission Statement

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of San Joaquin County. The CASA Program endeavors to ensure that abused, neglected and abandoned children who have become dependents of the San Joaquin County Court will have a safe and permanent home.

Description

CASA - A Powerful Voice in a Child's Life

CASA of San Joaquin County is currently recruiting community volunteers to serve as "eyes and ears" for the Court and provide a "voice" for a child; at home, in school and in the court room. CASA of San Joaquin County provides the screening, training and on-going support necessary to be successful advocates for the neediest of children in our County. The CASA volunteer provides continuity by staying on the case until it is permanently resolved. Volunteers are expected to have contact with their CASA child every week, attend court hearings as needed, and provide written reports to the court. The written reports include all interviews, visits, and assessments taken by the CASA in regard to recommendations based on the child’s very best interest. If you, or someone you know is interested in becoming a CASA volunteer please contact Trinidad Olivas-Newcomb at (209) 644-5319
